The imprint Minerva Press is honored to publish a volume reflecting on the third Bodhgaya Biennale (2020-2021). The primary goal of this book will be to shine a light on the way folk arts, crafts, and contemporary arts infuse each other while struggling for supremacy, visibility, prominence, and commercial value. The Bodhgaya context is a striking situation that permits and in fact flourishes when these art forms co-exist, aware of each other, indebted to the other. Minerva Press has begun the preliminary work of identifying authors, artist, thinkers, and activists for this volume, which is committed to destabilizing hierarchies that demarcate and constrain these kinds of art within the larger context of visual culture”
